INFORMATION FOR DONORS

Classrooms at Circle of Peace School are not permanent structures. The Ugandan Ministry of Education wants all schools to have permanent structures. We urgently need and want to build permanent classrooms.

Furthermore, the playground needs to be improved. The drainage system from our neighbor ‘s"muyindi" passes in front of our school gate, which makes for unhealthy conditions. This has required us to employ more school cleaners, which is expensive.

Our dormitories are very crowded. We would like to have more space to accommodate more pupils.

The Lower School needs reading materials: books and posters. It also needs toys and arts/crafts supplies: crayons, paints, paper, and clay. These materials are expensive in Uganda. We do not require new materials; students and teachers appreciate anything that can be employed for learning.

The Upper School needs reading books, textbooks, and recreation equipment (balls, swings, costumes for dance and drama, and musical instruments – especially drums).

Text books are especially needed. Currently, three to four students share a text book. We can't afford to provide each student their own copy. We also need reading books. We try to emphasize reading to help our students excel in their vocabulary and improve their reading skills.
